HOW TO APPLY

Applying to Universitas Muhammadiyah Bengkulu as an international student is a straightforward process managed by the UMB Global Engagement (UGE) team from start to finish. The entire application is done online, and there are no application fees.

Intake Schedule

Undergraduate programs open admissions once a year. Master's programs open twice a year. Specific intake dates for each cycle are announced through official UMB channels, and prospective students are encouraged to apply early as places are limited.

How to Apply

To start your application, visit s.id/umb_application or click the Apply Now button on this page. You will need to create an account first, then complete all sections of the online form and upload the required documents before submitting.

Required Documents

For undergraduate applicants:

  • High school diploma and academic transcript, validated by the issuing school
  • Motivation letter
  • Letter of recommendation
  • Valid passport
  • English proficiency document (TOEFL, IELTS, TOEIC, or equivalent)
  • Recent photo with a blue background
  • Signed financial support statement from parent or legal guardian
  • Medical certificate from a government hospital in your home country
  • Academic or non-academic achievement certificates, if available
  • Signed statement of commitment to comply with all regulations set by the Government of Indonesia and UMB

For Master's applicants, replace the high school diploma and transcript with your undergraduate degree certificate and transcript. All other requirements remain the same.

Selection Process

Once you submit your application, the process runs as follows.

  1. Online form submission and document upload
  2. Administrative screening by the UGE team
  3. First selection result announcement
  4. Interview and in-depth assessment
  5. Final selection result announcement

Applicants who pass the final selection will be contacted directly by the UGE team via official email.

Scholarships

A limited number of scholarships are available for undergraduate applicants. There are no scholarships offered for Master's programs. UMB also welcomes students who come with external funding, whether from international organizations, their home country government, or the Indonesian government's KNB Scholarship program. In all cases, students are responsible for identifying and securing their own funding. UMB does not arrange third-party scholarships on behalf of applicants.

After Acceptance

Once you receive your acceptance, the UGE team will assist you through the remaining steps before you arrive in Bengkulu.

The first step is obtaining a Study Permit from Indonesia's Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology. This is a mandatory requirement for all international students studying in Indonesia, and UGE will guide you through the process.

The next step is your student visa. UGE handles the visa submission on your behalf through the Ministry of Immigration and Corrections of Indonesia. The visa fee will be communicated by the UGE team and must be transferred to the official UGE account. This is the only cost involved in the entire application process.

Once everything is in order, you will be given a required arrival date. All accepted students must arrive in Indonesia by that date as set by UGE.
