Hello 👋

FACILITIES

UMB spreads across five campuses in Bengkulu city, each serving a specific academic or residential function. The campuses are well connected to one another and sit in a central location within the city, close to Fatmawati Soekarno Airport and the Trans-Sumatra toll road. Getting around Bengkulu from any of the campuses is straightforward.

Every classroom across all campuses is equipped with air conditioning, a projector, a whiteboard, and adequate lighting. The learning environment is built for comfort, and the infrastructure has been maintained and updated steadily over the years.

Campus 1 — Main Campus

Campus 1 on Jalan Bali is the administrative heart of UMB. The central administration offices are located here, along with the faculties of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP), Engineering (FT), and Agriculture and Animal Science (FPP). The campus also houses the university library, teaching laboratories, a futsal field, and the Ibnu Sina Health Clinic, which provides free health services for students, lecturers, and staff. There is also a mosque, Al Farabi Mosque, which serves as both a place of worship and a teaching laboratory for Islamic Studies programs. A new student admission building (Gedung PMB) is also located here.

Campus 2 — Student Residences and Student Activities

Campus 2 on Jalan Salak Raya houses the male student dormitory, managed under UMB's Islamic boarding school program (Pesantren Mahasiswa). Residents are guided by qualified ustadz and mentors using a curriculum aligned with the Association of Muhammadiyah Aisyiyah University Dormitory Managers. Campus 2 also serves as the secretariat and activity center for student organizations, including the Student Representative Council (DPM), Student Executive Board (BEM), IMM, and various student interest clubs (UKM). Utsman Bin Affan Mosque is also located here.

Campus 3 — Forest Reserve Management and Medical Center

Campus 3 is home to the management office of UMB's Special Purpose Forest Area (Kawasan Hutan dengan Tujuan Khusus / KHDTK), a 2,000-hectare natural forest that functions as a living laboratory and research site for students and faculty. This is one of the more unusual assets a university in Indonesia can claim a full-scale natural ecosystem available for fieldwork, biodiversity research, and environmental studies. Campus 3 also houses the UMB Medical Center (UMC), a clinic open to students, staff, and the general public.

Campus 4 — Academic and Sports Hub

Campus 4 is the largest academic campus outside of Campus 1. The faculties of Islamic Studies (FAI), Economics and Business (FEB), Social and Political Sciences (FISIP), Health Sciences (FIKES), and Law (FH) all hold classes here. The campus also has dedicated teaching laboratories for health science programs, a female student dormitory, and At Tanwir Mosque.

The standout facility here is the Sportatorium, a sports hall with international-standard courts capable of holding up to 4,000 people. It has hosted major sporting events and large university gatherings. Campus 4 also has two auditoriums, each with a capacity of 500 people, both equipped with air conditioning, a sound system, projectors, and screens. These venues are regularly used for seminars, workshops, conferences, and graduation events.

Campus 4 is also home to a BI Corner, a reading and study space set up through a partnership between UMB's library and Bank Indonesia, offering additional reference materials in economics and finance.

Campus 5 — Future Development

Campus 5 is currently in the planning and development phase. It is designated to become home to a Faculty of Medicine and a Teaching Hospital, which will significantly expand UMB's health sciences capacity when completed.

Library

UMB's central library holds an A-level accreditation from the National Library of Indonesia, the highest rating available. It operates on an IT-based system connected to SLIM (the national integrated library system), and provides access to e-books, e-journals, and e-library resources. The library is also registered with the National Library of Indonesia (Perpustakaan Nasional RI).

Language Center

The Self Access Center (SAC) is UMB's English language learning facility, open to students, lecturers, and the general public. SAC operates in partnership with the Indonesia International Education Foundation (IIEF), the official representative of Educational Testing Service (ETS) America in Bengkulu Province. Students can prepare for and sit TOEFL ITP tests directly through this center, which is the only authorized TOEFL ITP testing site in Bengkulu.

Broadcasting Laboratory

Radio Jazirah is UMB's commercial radio station and serves simultaneously as a broadcasting laboratory for Communication Studies students. It gives students hands-on experience in live radio production, programming, and broadcast management in a real commercial environment, not just a practice studio.

Legal Aid Center

UMB operates the Legal Consultation and Aid Institute (LKBH UMB), which provides legal assistance to the wider Bengkulu community. For students in the Faculty of Law, this center doubles as a practical learning environment where they can work on real cases under faculty supervision.

Health Services

Two clinics serve the UMB community. Klinik Pratama Ibnu Sina at Campus 1 and UMB Medical Center at Campus 3 both provide free healthcare for registered students, lecturers, and staff, and are also open to the general public as patients.
